How to Create a Workout Plan You Actually Enjoy

Genevieve Marshall |

Contrary to what many people may believe, getting in a worthwhile and beneficial workout is much easier (and can even be fun!) Numerous activities can help to build muscles, enhance cardiovascular health, and consequently, improve overall health.

How to create a workout plan you enjoy

1. Write down your fitness goals

Know your objectives and work toward them. Loss of weight? develop muscle? Boost your strength? firm and tonal? Are your objectives aesthetic, functional, or both?

2. What exercise activities do you like?

There are many enjoyable and fun ways to stay active with physical activities you like and find fulfilling; there is no "right" or "wrong" way to be active, whether you like running, hiking, figure skating, or boxing.

3. Choose your favorite physical activity

While there are many different activities you could incorporate into your fitness plan, depending on your preferences, goals, and level of fitness, you can choose between Cardio, Strengthening, Recovery and Mobility.

Depending on your goals, either one of these will fall into that specific goal you have. You can do all 4 of these in conjunction but it's not a must. Do what you feel works for you!

4. Create a schedule that works for you

While there are many different activities you could incorporate into your fitness plan, depending on your preferences, goals, and level of fitness.

Ask yourself these questions:

- When do you like working out?

- What is your daily schedule like? Try and fit a workout in.

- How many days a week do you aim to be active?

PS. It's okay if your schedule changes, as long as you make time for yourself even if it is just 30 minutes to an hour. Do what makes you feel good!
